The Mepps Bug is equipped with classic imitation cores (with fixed baffles and single bearings under the shackles), resembling the shape of insect larvae. The very wide blades imitate the half-open wings of insects. Bug models have blades with a mesh pattern resembling the webbing of insect wings. On the trebles of spinnerbaits are artificial flies, the colour of which corresponds to the colour of the core. When rotating the bifurcated form of the blade does not retain its outlines. The same applies to the vibrating during the conduct imitation core. Compared to other Mepps models, Bug has an excessive weight-core weight in relation to the area of the blade, so its centre of gravity is moved closer to the head part of the lure, and the end of the core has a conical shape. Such a peculiar design of the lure makes it very noticeable. Bug is successfully used in fishing for perch and medium pike. The treble is saturated with micro-glitter and provides additional signals that attract predators.
